UAE roads record zero deaths on first day of new school year

On the first day of the new school year, the UAE reported no road fatalities, thanks to the "A Day Without Accidents" initiative. This program, organized by the Ministry of Interior and the Federal Traffic Council, aims to promote safer driving practices among motorists.

## Widespread Participation

This year, 385,700 individuals participated in the initiative, pledging to adhere to traffic regulations. Those who registered and met the necessary conditions received a reduction of four points from their traffic black points.

## Traffic Safety Improvements

The announcement was made during the Federal Traffic Council's fifth meeting, led by Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harthy. The council reviewed traffic fatality data for 2026, noting a decrease in road accident deaths. Discussions also focused on enhancing road safety measures and emergency response strategies.
