Kuwait court jails three Kuwaitis, Lebanese for 10 years over Lebanon's Hezbollah links

## Court Ruling

Kuwait's State Security Appeals Court has sentenced three Kuwaiti nationals and one Lebanese individual to ten years in prison. They were found guilty of joining and financing Lebanon's Hezbollah. Additionally, the court imposed fines totaling KD6.283 million.

## Acquittals and Additional Cases

While these four individuals were convicted, other defendants, including a Kuwaiti woman, were acquitted. In a related case, another Kuwaiti was sentenced to seven years and fined KD6 million for similar charges involving a charitable committee.

## Regulatory Measures

These verdicts come as Kuwait enhances its oversight of charitable activities and financial transactions. A new law was recently enacted to improve governance and mitigate risks such as money laundering and terrorist financing.
