UAE residents can invest from Dh1,000 in new five-year government T-Sukuk

## Introduction to T-Sukuk

The UAE Ministry of Finance has introduced a new five-year retail T-Sukuk, allowing residents to invest with a minimum of Dh1,000. This initiative is part of the Sovereign Retail T-Sukuk Programme, aimed at providing individuals with access to government-backed, Shariah-compliant investment opportunities.

## Investment Details

The T-Sukuk is fully supported by the UAE Government and offers a profit rate to be announced on September 22. Investors can subscribe through various digital platforms, including the Dubai Financial Market’s eIPO platform and apps like iVestor and DFM. Once the allocation and settlement processes are complete, the sukuk will be listed on Nasdaq Dubai for secondary market trading.

## Accessibility and Demand

The second issuance follows a successful initial offering earlier this year, which saw high demand, prompting an increase in the issuance size. The Dh1,000 minimum investment threshold is designed to make this opportunity accessible to a broader range of investors, including those typically unable to participate in larger institutional transactions.

## Strategic Goals

The programme aims to empower UAE residents and nationals by facilitating direct access to sovereign investment instruments. It aligns with the Year of Family 2026 objectives, promoting long-term financial planning and a culture of saving.

## Previous Issuance Insights

The first issuance attracted significant interest, with 76% of investments being Dh10,000 or less. UAE nationals made up 72% of the investor base, and younger investors and women represented 45% of subscribers. The inaugural T-Sukuk had a two-year term with a 4.30% annual profit rate, distributed semi-annually.

## Future Prospects

The Ministry of Finance is committed to advancing financial innovation and expanding the investor base for UAE dirham-denominated government debt. This second issuance reaffirms the UAE's dedication to developing its domestic capital markets and providing a seamless investment experience.
