## Bollywood Film Shoot Affects Cricket Pitch

A Bollywood film shoot for Sourav Ganguly's biopic, "Dada," has been linked to a significant penalty for Leicestershire County Cricket Club. The shoot took place at Grace Road, Leicestershire's home ground, just days before a crucial match against Glamorgan in August.

## Pitch Penalty and Relegation Threat

Leicestershire was penalized 27 points by the Cricket Discipline Panel due to a "poor" pitch, which could lead to relegation from Division One. The club argued that the filming, which left the pitch uncovered for eight hours, contributed to the poor conditions. However, the panel considered it just one of several factors.

## Investigation Findings

The investigation revealed issues such as uneven bounce, moving cracks, and large grass clumps on the pitch. Match referee Ian Ramage noted 43 instances of uneven bounce during the game. As a result, Leicestershire forfeited 19 points from their victory and received an additional eight-point deduction, along with a £5,000 fine.

## Future Implications

An additional eight-point penalty is suspended until the end of the 2027 season. The club is contemplating an appeal against the decision. Meanwhile, the biopic, starring Rajkummar Rao as Ganguly, is set for release on May 14, 2027.
