UAE travel: British Airways, Lufthansa, Air France revise schedules; when will international airlines return?

## British Airways and Air France Updates

British Airways plans to resume flights to Dubai starting November 4, initially offering one daily service during the winter season, with plans to increase to two daily flights in the summer. However, its Abu Dhabi flights will not return until the winter of 2027-28. Air France has suspended its Dubai operations until October 13, 2026, due to ongoing security concerns in the Middle East.

## Wizz Air and Lufthansa Group Plans

Wizz Air is set to restart its Dubai services on October 25 and Abu Dhabi on October 27, with a total of 49 weekly flights planned across various routes. Meanwhile, Lufthansa, Eurowings, and SWISS have extended their suspension of Dubai flights until October 24. Eurowings aims to resume services from November 1.

## Other Airlines' Status

Singapore Airlines has canceled its Dubai flights until October 24, with potential further disruptions. KLM and ITA Airways have also suspended their Dubai services through October 24. AirBaltic and Philippine Airlines have similar suspensions, with the latter monitoring conditions for a possible return.

## Long-term Outlook

Some airlines, like Air Canada and Virgin Atlantic, have postponed their Dubai services well into 2027, citing regional security assessments. The uneven recovery highlights the cautious approach of international carriers, contrasting with UAE-based airlines that are rapidly rebuilding capacity. Emirates reported operating at 93% of pre-disruption levels during July and August, while Dubai Airports anticipates increased passenger traffic as more airlines restore their schedules.
