The second edition of the Dubai Mallathon concluded with over 160,000 participants, marking a significant milestone in community sports initiatives. Held from June 15 to September 15, the event was organized by the Dubai Sports Council in partnership with the Ministry of Defence.

## Promoting Active Lifestyles

The initiative, under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aimed to promote physical activity and social interaction. Participants collectively logged over 290 million steps across various malls and destinations in Dubai, emphasizing the importance of sports in enhancing health and quality of life.

## Diverse Participation

The event attracted a wide range of participants, including professional athletes, amateur runners, and families. Khalfan Juma Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, highlighted the community's enthusiasm and the initiative's role in fostering a healthier society.

## Expanding Reach

This year, new venues such as Dubai International Airport and Ibn Battuta Mall joined established locations like Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates. The event featured a full marathon and a half-marathon, drawing significant participation from both professional and amateur runners.

## Celebrating Achievements

The closing events included a special sports day at Dubai Hills Mall, attended by notable figures and Emirati sporting legends. Winners of various races were honored, and the initiative celebrated Emirati Women’s Day with dedicated events.

## Strategic Goals

The Dubai Mallathon supports the Dubai Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033 and the Year of the Family 2026, encouraging families to engage in sports together. The initiative also aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, aiming to improve quality of life through regular physical activity.
