Ajit Agarkar not seeking extension as chief selector

## Agarkar's Decision Ajit Agarkar, the chief selector for India's cricket team, has announced he will not seek an extension of his contract, which concludes on October 4. This decision was a significant topic at the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) 95th Annual General Meeting.

## BCCI's Next Steps The BCCI is now tasked with finding a successor for Agarkar. During the AGM, member units granted authority to office-bearers to make decisions regarding the selection committees. The meeting was attended by notable figures such as Sourav Ganguly and Venkatesh Prasad.

## Junior Selection Committee In addition to the senior committee, the BCCI is also working on appointing members for the junior selection committee. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia mentioned that they have received numerous applications and aim to finalize the selection within 10 to 15 days.

## Fielding Coach Update Subhadeep Ghosh, the current fielding coach for India, has been appointed on a short-term basis. His future role will be determined after evaluating his performance, as stated by Saikia.
