## Major Road Development

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a significant road development project on Oud Maitha Road, reducing travel time from 20 minutes to just five. This initiative, finalized on September 20, enhances the road's capacity by 50%, accommodating up to 15,600 vehicles per hour in both directions.

## Infrastructure Enhancements

The project includes upgrades to four intersections, four bridges, and two tunnels, covering a total of 4.3 kilometers. Additionally, 14 kilometers of roads have been improved to support the increasing traffic demand in areas like Za’abeel, Al Jaddaf, and Umm Hurair. The enhancements are expected to benefit over 420,000 residents by 2030.

## Improved Connectivity

Key intersections have been upgraded to ease congestion and improve connectivity between Oud Maitha Road and Al Asayel Street. For instance, the intersection with Sheikh Rashid Road now includes an additional lane for left-turn traffic, increasing capacity to 1,800 vehicles per hour. A new tunnel also facilitates traffic towards Bur Dubai.

## New Bridges and Tunnels

Two new bridges at the intersection of Oud Maitha Road and Al Asayel Street connect Al Asayel Street with Al Khail Road. These bridges have a combined capacity of 6,000 vehicles per hour. Additionally, a two-lane bridge at Al Wasl Club Street and Al Khail Road intersection can handle 3,000 vehicles per hour, improving access to Business Bay Crossing.

## Enhanced Access

The project also improves access to key facilities such as Latifa Hospital and Al Wasl Club, reducing traffic conflicts and enhancing road safety. These developments are part of RTA's broader strategy to improve road infrastructure and reduce travel times across Dubai.
