Sharjah establishes $1.6m humanitarian innovation centre in Indonesia

The initiative is a collaboration between The Big Heart Foundation, NAMA Women Advancement Establishment, and Universitas Gadjah Mada. The funding includes contributions of $1 million from The Big Heart Foundation, $500,000 from NAMA, and $100,000 from the university.

The centre will operate through two platforms within the university, focusing on transforming academic knowledge into practical solutions. It aims to tackle issues like food security, climate change, and women's empowerment by linking research with community needs.

The centre builds on existing partnerships, such as the "Jawaher Fund for the Advancement of Women’s Education," which supports women pursuing postgraduate studies. This reflects a broader commitment to empowering women and addressing educational challenges.
