## Tragic Landslide in Idukki

A devastating landslide in Kerala's Idukki district resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left another critically injured. The incident occurred in Kottakamboor, Vattavada, on Sunday evening as heavy rains triggered the landslide.

The victims, identified as Balakrishnan and Chinnu, were working in a farm shed when the landslide buried the structure. Balakrishnan's wife survived but sustained injuries. The critically injured person was transported to Adimali Taluk Hospital for treatment.

## Shelter Turned Deadly

According to Devikulam MLA F Raja, the workers sought refuge in the shed from the intense rainfall. Unfortunately, the landslide struck soon after, engulfing the shed in mud and debris. Rescue efforts led to the recovery of the two deceased, while the injured survivor was hospitalized.

## Rising Death Toll in Chokkad River

In a related incident, the death toll from flash floods in the Chokkad River has increased to three. The bodies of a woman and two men, who were previously missing, have been recovered. These incidents highlight the severe impact of ongoing heavy rains in the region.
