## No Mass Repatriation Ordered

The Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has confirmed that there is no current directive for mass repatriation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Middle East, despite rising tensions in the region. The situation has not escalated to Alert Level 4, which would necessitate mandatory repatriation. Currently, the UAE is at Alert Level 2.

## Assistance for Stranded Filipinos

Around 80 to 100 Filipinos in Dubai and 52 in Israel have requested repatriation. However, closed airspace and suspended airport operations in the Middle East are delaying immediate action. In response, the DMW, along with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Migrant Workers Offices (MWO), is providing essential services such as food, water, temporary shelter, and transportation to safer areas.

## Coordination with Authorities

The DMW is collaborating with the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs and host governments to identify potential evacuation routes if needed. Discussions are also underway with the Department of National Defense and private companies to arrange land, air, or sea transport for future repatriation efforts.

## Recent Developments

Recently, 57 OFWs stranded at Hong Kong International Airport have safely returned to Manila with assistance from DMW and OWWA. Temporary housing and transportation support have been extended to other affected workers.

## Government Support and Hotline

The Philippine government remains committed to supporting its nationals abroad, with approximately 2 million OFWs in the Middle East as of 2025. Filipinos are advised to adhere to safety protocols in host countries. The OWWA's 1348 hotline is operational 24/7 to assist families and workers, handling inquiries about repatriation and safety updates.
