## Tragic Discovery

A 22-year-old Indian student, Saketh Sreenivasaiah, was found dead in California after being missing for six days. His body was recovered by authorities, and the Indian Consulate in San Francisco has pledged to assist with repatriation efforts.

## Academic Background

Sreenivasaiah hailed from Karnataka and was pursuing a master's degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. He was an alumnus of IIT Madras and had previously studied at Sri Vani Education Centre in Bengaluru. Known for his academic excellence, he co-held a patent for a microchannel cooling system for hyperloop technology.

## Search Efforts

Sreenivasaiah disappeared on February 9, prompting a citywide search around Lake Anza and the Berkeley Hills. His backpack, containing his passport and laptop, was discovered near Tilden Regional Park. Police noted he had been reportedly upset over a personal relationship.

## Community and Police Involvement

The Berkeley Police Department, in collaboration with the East Bay Regional Park District, led the search efforts. The local community and online volunteers also participated in the search. His last known location was near Dwight Way and McGee Avenue.
