UAE moves spring break for schools and universities - details announced

## New Spring Break Dates

The UAE has announced an earlier start for the spring break for students and staff in both public and private educational institutions. The break will now commence on Monday, March 9, and conclude on Sunday, March 22. Classes and official duties are set to resume on Monday, March 23.

## Reason for Change

This adjustment, approved by the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council, comes in response to recent regional tensions. The original dates for the break were from March 16 to 29, as per the 2025–2026 academic calendar.

## Continuation of Remote Learning

Prior to the break, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research extended remote learning until Friday, March 6. This decision ensures that teaching and learning continue under the current assessment frameworks.
