Exhausted pelican gets a helping hand on busy Dubai road

## Pelican in Peril

A Syrian resident, Abdulrazzaq Suleiman, took swift action to save an exhausted pelican stranded on a busy Dubai road. The incident occurred on November 1 as Suleiman was driving from Warsan to Sharjah along Ras Al Khor Road.

## Traffic Stops for Rescue

Spotting the bird unable to fly, Suleiman safely pulled over and approached the pelican. Despite the heavy traffic, other motorists stopped to allow him to guide the bird to safety. The rescue operation took about five to ten minutes.

## Safe Haven

After ensuring the pelican was out of danger, an Emirati motorist transported the bird to Dubai Safari Park for further care. Suleiman expressed that helping animals in distress is a reflection of the values of compassion and responsibility he has learned in the UAE.
