## Phone Call Between Leaders
The President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, recently received a phone call from Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. During the conversation, Marcos expressed his solidarity with the UAE amidst rising tensions in the Middle East. He also conveyed confidence in the UAE's ability to protect its residents, including nearly one million Filipinos living there.
## Regional Concerns
The call comes at a time when several Middle Eastern countries are on high alert due to ongoing conflicts involving the US, Israel, and Iran. President Marcos expressed hope for a de-escalation of hostilities and a return to normalcy in the region.
## Previous Engagements
Earlier this year, the two leaders met during Marcos' visit to the UAE, where they discussed enhancing cooperation in economic development, trade, and sustainability. Marcos is also scheduled to visit the United Nations in New York to advocate for peace in the region.
