New advisories for Indian expats, visitors in UAE, GCC amid US-Israel-Iran war as 52,000 Indians return home

## Situation Overview

The ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran has prompted the Indian government to issue new advisories for its nationals in the UAE and GCC countries. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is closely monitoring the situation, focusing on the safety of Indians in the region.

## Return of Indian Nationals

Between March 1 and 7, over 52,000 Indians returned home from the Gulf, with 32,107 traveling on Indian airlines. More flights are planned to facilitate further returns.

## Advisory Details

Indian nationals are urged to follow local guidelines and advisories from Indian embassies or consulates. These missions have established 24/7 helplines to assist those affected. A Special Control Room has also been set up by the MEA to handle queries.

## Travel and Safety Instructions

In areas where commercial flights are unavailable, Indians should contact their local embassy for flight options. The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has advised against unauthorized filming at sensitive locations, warning of strict penalties for violations.

## Flight Operations

Air India and Air India Express are operating flights to safe destinations like Jeddah and Muscat. Additional flights from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah are scheduled. Passengers should verify flight statuses online before traveling.

## Cancellations and Rebooking

Air India Express flights to several Gulf destinations are canceled until mid-March. Affected passengers can rebook or request refunds. IndiGo has resumed flights to Europe and continues operations in the Middle East, advising passengers to check schedules regularly.
