## Court Ruling
A Dubai court has mandated a woman to pay Dh25,000 to a beauty clinic owner for defamation. The case involved public accusations made by the woman, claiming the clinic owner engaged in theft and illegal activities, which harmed the business's reputation.
## Legal Proceedings
Initially, the woman faced a criminal charge for defamation and was fined Dh5,000. This conviction was upheld by the Court of Appeal. Following this, the clinic owner pursued a civil lawsuit, seeking Dh100,000 for damages, citing financial losses and emotional distress.
## Court's Decision
The court determined that the woman's actions caused both material and moral damages to the clinic owner. Material damages included legal costs and business losses, while moral damages involved harm to the owner's dignity and reputation.
## Compensation Details
The court awarded Dh25,000 to the clinic owner, covering both types of damages. Additionally, the defendant must pay 5% legal interest from the judgment date until full payment, along with court fees.
