Pakistan’s first woman Everest climber motivates youth in Dubai

## Samina Baig's Inspirational Journey

Samina Baig, the first Pakistani woman to conquer Mount Everest, recently shared her remarkable story with young people in Dubai. During a Ramadan Suhoor event at the Ismaili Centre, she recounted her journey from the remote valleys of Gilgit to the peaks of the world's tallest mountains.

## Overcoming Challenges

Baig's path to becoming a renowned mountaineer began in a small village where she grew up with basic amenities. Her interest in climbing was sparked by foreign mountaineers visiting her region. Encouraged by her brother, she pursued her dream, starting with a challenging 6,000-meter peak. By 2013, at just 22, she had reached the summit of Everest, and soon after, completed the Seven Summits challenge.

## Teaching the Next Generation

Today, Baig is dedicated to mentoring young climbers through the Pakistan Youth Outreach Foundation. She emphasizes the importance of patience, resilience, and self-belief, sharing her experiences of facing harsh weather, avalanches, and injuries during high-altitude climbs.

## Promoting Education and Awareness

Beyond mountaineering, Baig is committed to promoting women's education, human rights, and climate change awareness. She believes that success requires personal courage and community support. Her message to aspiring climbers is clear: "Believe in your purpose and keep climbing, no summit is too high."
