UAE air defences intercepted missiles, drones amid Iranian attack

## Interception of Aerial Threats

The United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Defence confirmed that their air defence systems effectively intercepted missiles and drones launched from Iran. The interception was part of a response to escalating tensions in the region.

## Details of the Attack

The Ministry reported that the sounds heard across various parts of the UAE were due to the interception of ballistic missiles and drones targeting the country. Since the onset of these attacks, six people have died and 122 have been injured.

## Defence System Performance

The UAE's air defence systems have detected a total of 262 ballistic missiles, successfully intercepting 241. Nineteen missiles fell into the sea, and two landed within the UAE. Additionally, 1,475 drones were detected, with 1,385 intercepted and destroyed, while 90 fell within the country.

## Cruise Missiles

The defence systems also detected and destroyed eight cruise missiles. These operations are part of the UAE's integrated air defence strategy aimed at protecting its airspace and critical infrastructure.
