## Legal Requirements for Employment
In the UAE, it is permissible to work while on your husband's visa, but specific legal steps must be followed. The employer is responsible for obtaining a work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE). This permit, previously known as a labor card, is essential for legal employment.
## Necessary Documentation
To apply for a work permit, several documents are required. These include the employee's passport, a copy of the visa, the husband's passport and visa, and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the husband. The NOC is a simple letter indicating the husband's consent for his wife to work. Additionally, education certificates may be needed if relevant to the job.
## Employment Contract
A formal employment contract must be signed between the employee and the employer. This contract is a legal requirement and outlines the terms of employment.
## Consequences of Non-Compliance
Working without a valid work permit is illegal and can result in significant fines. According to Article 60 of the Labor Law No. 33 of 2021, fines range from 100,000 to 1,000,000 UAE Dirhams. It is crucial to adhere to these regulations to avoid legal repercussions.
