India's CISCE cancels ICSE & ISC Board Exams for UAE schools

## Exam Cancellation

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has decided to cancel the 2026 ICSE and ISC board exams for schools in the UAE. This decision was communicated to school principals through a circular on Thursday.

## Reason for Cancellation

The exams, initially postponed, have been canceled due to security concerns in the region. The CISCE consulted with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and the Indian Consulate in Dubai before making this decision.

## Alternative Assessment

CISCE will use an alternative assessment method to determine results for students in the UAE. Details of this assessment process will be shared later. Students dissatisfied with their results will have the option to take an Improvement Examination later in 2026.

## Communication to Stakeholders

School principals have been tasked with informing students, parents, and staff about the cancellation and the new assessment process.
