## Incident Overview
On April 7, 2026, a ballistic missile launched from Iran struck an administrative building in Sharjah, specifically targeting the Thuraya Telecommunications Company. The attack resulted in injuries to two Pakistani nationals, who were subsequently hospitalized for treatment.
## Official Response
The Sharjah Government Media Bureau has confirmed the incident and emphasized the importance of relying on official sources for information. The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that their air defense systems intercepted one ballistic missile and 11 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from Iran on the same day.
## Broader Context
Since the beginning of these attacks, UAE defenses have intercepted a total of 520 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,221 UAVs. Despite the severity of these incidents, no fatalities were reported in the latest attack. However, the cumulative civilian death toll stands at 10, alongside two Emirati servicemen and a Moroccan civilian contractor.
