## New Initiative for Sustainable Infrastructure
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai has partnered with Emarat EV Charging Stations Company to introduce electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at mosque parking areas across the city. This initiative aims to integrate clean mobility solutions with smart energy management in religious sites.
## Agreement Details
The agreement, signed by IACAD's Director General Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi and Emarat's Board Member Engineer Ahmed Al Kaabi, spans eight years with a renewal option. It includes the installation and operation of modern charging stations, routine maintenance, and secure payment systems. A digital app will also be available for users to locate charging stations easily.
## Strategic Vision
This project is part of IACAD's broader strategy to transition from traditional services to a sustainable, future-oriented ecosystem. It aligns with national policies on energy and environmental sustainability, positioning mosques as dynamic community hubs.
## Industry Impact
Engineer Ahmed Al Kaabi highlighted the importance of partnerships in promoting sustainable mobility in the UAE. The collaboration with IACAD supports the country's shift towards low-emission transport solutions. Ali Al Darwish, Acting CEO of UAEV, emphasized the strategic expansion of the EV charging network in community-centric locations.
## Technical Advancements
Consultant Engineer Ali Al Halyan Al Suwaidi noted the project's foundation on advanced technical principles, ensuring safety, efficiency, and scalability. This infrastructure supports the growing demand for electric vehicles in Dubai, reinforcing IACAD's role in environmental sustainability and smart infrastructure development.
