Lulu flies 3,000 tonnes of Kerala produce to GCC ahead of Vishu

## Massive Airlift for Vishu Celebrations

Lulu Group has undertaken a significant logistical operation, flying over 3,000 tonnes of fresh produce from Kerala to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This initiative aims to meet the increased demand for traditional items ahead of the Vishu festival, a key celebration for the Malayali community.

## Essential Festive Items

The shipments include essential items such as kani konna flowers, jackfruit, banana leaves, and coconuts, which are vital for Vishukkani arrangements and Sadya meals. A recent delivery of nearly 100 tonnes arrived in Abu Dhabi, with more expected in the coming days.

## Supporting Local Farmers

Lulu's Fair Exports Division has sourced most of the produce directly from farmers in Kerala, ensuring a swift transition from farms to retail shelves across the GCC. This approach not only supports local agriculture but also strengthens export-linked supply chains.

## Retail Preparations

Lulu stores are gearing up for the festive rush with dedicated sections for Vishu essentials and a variety of traditional items. The group has also launched a Payasam Festival, offering over 20 dessert varieties, and is taking pre-orders for Vishu Sadya meals, which typically feature more than 20 dishes.

## Assurance of Stock and Pricing

Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of Lulu Group, has reassured customers of sufficient stock levels and stable prices during the festive period, highlighting the company's commitment to maintaining availability despite the logistical challenges.
