Zayed Sustainability Prize expands funding for all finalists

## Expanded Support for Innovators

The Zayed Sustainability Prize has announced an expansion in its funding strategy for the 2027 cycle, offering financial support to all finalists. This initiative, which began in 2026, aims to transform the Prize from a recognition platform into a comprehensive support system for global innovators.

## Financial Grants for Finalists

Finalists in the 2027 cycle will receive grants of $100,000 for organizational projects and $25,000 for student teams. This approach ensures that reaching the finalist stage is just the beginning, providing the necessary resources to scale and implement impactful solutions.

## Diverse Categories and Global Reach

The latest cycle saw 33 finalists across categories such as health, food, energy, water, and climate action. While only a few were named winners, all finalists received financial backing to further develop their projects. This aligns with the UAE's broader efforts to support global development and environmental solutions.

## Real-World Impact

The Prize has supported projects like E Green Global in South Korea, which produces disease-free potato seeds, benefiting millions and enhancing food security. In Lebanon, students developed a solar-powered water purification system, turning classroom ideas into practical solutions.

## Growing Global Interest

The 2027 cycle attracted 7,761 applications from 173 countries, a 30% increase from the previous round. This surge reflects the growing global interest in the Prize's role in scaling practical solutions. Applications are open to SMEs, non-profits, and schools until June 22, 2026, with winners to be announced in January 2027.
