## Advisory Update
The US Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has lifted its 'shelter-in-place' advisory for its employees following a halt in recent missile and drone attacks. This change allows staff to resume normal activities, though they are advised to remain vigilant for any potential new threats.
## Ongoing Caution
Despite the easing of restrictions, the embassy continues to maintain a Level 3 travel advisory for the UAE, urging US citizens to reconsider travel plans. The embassy and consulate are still operating under ordered departure status, with non-essential personnel relocated outside the country. As a result, consular services are limited, and routine US visa services are currently suspended.
## Safety Recommendations
US citizens in the UAE are encouraged to review the travel advisory and enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for security updates. In the event of an aerial attack, individuals should avoid glass doors and windows, monitor news outlets for guidance, and keep essential supplies on hand. It is also recommended to keep travel documents updated and maintain communication with family and friends regarding one's safety.
## Emergency Contacts
For emergencies, US citizens can contact local services by dialing 999 in the UAE. The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai can be reached through their respective emergency numbers. Additionally, the US State Department Consular Affairs Call Center is available for assistance worldwide.
