Sarfaraz Ahmed named Pakistan Test head coach ahead of Bangladesh series

## Leadership Changes in Pakistan Cricket

Sarfaraz Ahmed, former captain of Pakistan's cricket team, has been appointed as the head coach of the national men's Test team. This move comes as part of a broader restructuring by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ahead of the upcoming series against Bangladesh.

## New Coaching Team

Alongside Sarfaraz, the PCB has introduced Asad Shafiq as the batting coach and Umar Gul as the bowling coach. Sarfaraz, who recently retired from international cricket, brings a wealth of experience, having led Pakistan to victory in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

## Upcoming Series and Squad

The Pakistan team is set to face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series starting May 8 in Dhaka, followed by a second match in Sylhet from May 16. The PCB has announced a 16-member squad, featuring four uncapped players: Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais, and Ghazi Ghori, with Ghori having played one ODI previously.

## Continuing Leadership

Shan Masood will continue as the Test captain, guiding a team that now benefits from a refreshed coaching staff. This series is seen as a crucial step in Pakistan's efforts to revitalize its Test cricket framework.
