## Al Sabq 2026 Event
Yas Heat Academy recently hosted the second edition of its Al Sabq programme at Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi. This grassroots initiative aims to discover and nurture young Emirati racing talent. The event saw a significant increase in participation, with 26 children aged 5 to 7 taking part, doubling the number from the previous year.
## Programme Highlights
The programme, led by Mohamed Al Hashmi, focuses on providing young Emiratis with early access to motorsport. Participants underwent a comprehensive evaluation, including on-track performance, fitness, and coordination tests. The standout performers were Faisal Alzaabi, Saif Alshehhi, and Ameera Al Mheiri, who earned fully funded racing seats in upcoming championships.
## Promoting Diversity
This year's edition also emphasized female participation, with Ameera Al Mheiri finishing among the top 15 drivers. The academy continues to encourage young girls to explore motorsport opportunities.
## Future Prospects
Yas Heat Academy, based at the home of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, has already produced successful drivers like Rashid Al Dhaheri and Ava Lawrence. The academy plans to expand its reach with future editions of Al Sabq, aiming to guide young talents towards professional racing careers.
