## Increased Inspections and Seizures
In 2025, Abu Dhabi authorities confiscated counterfeit and non-compliant goods valued at over Dh1.8 million. This was part of a broader effort by the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority (ADRA) to protect trademarks and ensure consumer safety. ADRA, under the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, conducted 465 inspection campaigns, marking a 16.2% increase from the previous year.
## Consumer Complaints and Resolutions
The year saw 16,748 inspection visits, a significant rise from 6,665 in 2024. These efforts led to 104 violations and 294 warnings issued to non-compliant businesses. Consumer complaints totaled 31,759, with ADRA resolving 83.5% amicably. Additionally, goods linked to resolved complaints were valued at approximately Dh28 million.
## Ongoing Efforts and Awareness
ADRA continues to conduct regular field visits and raise awareness about consumer rights. In 2025, they organized 15 workshops on trademark protection and 14 on consumer rights, alongside issuing 25 awareness bulletins. These initiatives aim to enhance compliance and promote fair competition in the business sector.
## Strategic Vision
Mohamed Munif Al Mansoori, Director General of ADRA, emphasized the importance of protecting consumers and trademarks as a core business principle. He highlighted the role of inspections and complaint handling in identifying counterfeit goods and promoting safety. ADRA's strategy aims to reinforce Abu Dhabi's reputation as a business-friendly environment.
