## Innovative AI Platform Launched

The UAE has launched a pioneering digital platform aimed at cataloguing and protecting the genetic diversity of date palm varieties. This initiative, known as the "UAE Digital Platform for Date Palm Varieties," utilizes artificial intelligence to create a comprehensive database that supports sustainable agricultural practices.

## Collaborative Effort

Developed through a partnership involving the Zayed For Good Foundation, the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, and the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, this platform is the first of its kind in the UAE. It serves as an interactive tool for researchers, farmers, and policymakers, enhancing agricultural planning and research.

## Technological Advancements

The platform employs AI to identify and analyze over 130 recognized date palm varieties, supported by thousands of images and digital records. This technological advancement is expected to improve resource management and contribute to national food security by addressing challenges like climate change and pest control.

The project, which took approximately three months to develop, aims to meet international standards and facilitate knowledge-sharing both locally and globally.
