Witness a rare 'planetary parade' this Ramadan: Planets align over Al Qudra Desert Dubai on 21 February 2026

## Celestial Event in Al Qudra Desert

On February 21, 2026, a rare astronomical event will unfold in the Al Qudra Desert, Dubai. The Al Thuraya Astronomy Center is hosting a viewing of a planetary alignment, offering a unique opportunity to witness six planets in a single night.

## What to Expect

The planets Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will align in a spectacular display. Venus will be the brightest, easily visible to the naked eye, while Jupiter's cloud bands and Saturn's rings will be highlights for telescope users. Uranus and Neptune, typically invisible without telescopes, will also be observable.

## Event Schedule

The event starts at 6 pm with an introduction, followed by Iftar and prayer at 6.20 pm. Saturn viewing begins at 6.45 pm due to its early setting. The evening includes talks on the connection between Ramadan and lunar cycles, and a detailed explanation of the planetary alignment.

## Additional Activities

After the main event, telescopes will be available for viewing the Moon, Uranus, and Jupiter, as well as other deep-sky objects. Attendees can also capture images through the telescopes using their phones.

## Booking Information

With limited spots available, early booking is recommended for this once-in-a-season experience. The event runs from 6 to 10 pm, and reservations can be made through the Al Thuraya Astronomy Center's website.
