The first day of Dhu al-Hijja is anticipated to be Monday, May 18, 2026. The lunar conjunction is predicted to occur at 12:17 a.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2026, with the crescent moon being visible for 57 minutes after sunset, which is considered sufficient for sighting.

## Submission to UAE Fatwa Council

The Sharjah Space and Astronomy Hub has submitted its findings to the UAE Fatwa Council to aid in the official moon-sighting process.
