Dubai is hosting a citywide wildlife hunt this weekend for free

## Participate in the City Nature Challenge

Dubai is transforming into a nature hub with the City Nature Challenge from April 24 to 27. Residents are encouraged to explore their surroundings and document local wildlife using the iNaturalist app. This initiative, led by Terra at Expo City Dubai, is part of a global effort to enhance understanding of urban biodiversity.

## How to Join

To participate, download the iNaturalist app and start capturing images of plants, birds, insects, or animals you encounter. Observations can be made anywhere in the city during the four-day event. Afterward, the community will help identify species from April 28 to May 10, with results announced on May 13.

## Nature and Wonder Festival

For a more structured experience, the Nature and Wonder: City Nature Challenge Festival will be held on April 25 and 26 at Terra. The festival, which requires a Dh50 ticket (free for children under three), features guided biodiversity walks, workshops, talks, and an eco-market. Highlights include a marine life talk by Susanne Fisher and a session on butterflies and urban biodiversity by Sheena Khan.

## Nationwide Participation

In Abu Dhabi, the Natural History Museum is leading similar activities, including biodiversity walks and night-time insect observations, all free to join. The observation period begins on April 24, inviting everyone to explore and contribute to scientific data collection.
