Heavy rains forecast across Saudi Arabia through week

## Weather Alert for Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is bracing for a week of heavy rain and thunderstorms, with the National Centre for Meteorology predicting severe weather conditions across most regions. The forecast indicates that rainfall will vary in intensity and could be accompanied by strong winds, hail, and high waves along coastal areas.

## Areas Affected

Rain is expected to begin impacting Mecca, Asir, Al Baha, Medina, and Qassim from Sunday evening. The heaviest downpours are anticipated in Taif, near Hafr Al Batin, and between Medina and Qassim. Conditions may ease overnight into Monday but are expected to intensify again in central Mecca and other southwestern regions.

## Weather Developments

By Monday afternoon, moderate to heavy rain is forecast for Jazan, Asir, and Mecca, before weakening in the evening as the system moves towards Riyadh and the Eastern Province. The rain is expected to subside by Tuesday morning, with only light showers in western Riyadh.

## Midweek Outlook

Rain is set to redevelop by Tuesday evening in southern regions, including Najran, Asir, and Mecca. Light to moderate rainfall will continue into Wednesday, intensifying over Asir, Najran, and Jazan, before shifting northwards towards Tabuk, Al Jouf, and the Northern Borders by Thursday morning.

## End of Week Forecast

By Thursday evening, moderate to heavy rain is expected to return to central Asir and areas between Najran and Jazan. Most regions will remain dry until Friday afternoon, when rainfall is forecast to intensify again across southwestern areas, extending into Medina and Qassim.

## Weekend Weather

Early Saturday, conditions are expected to improve, although light showers may persist in Riyadh, Mecca, and the Eastern Province. Another round of moderate to heavy rain is forecast later in the day over Jazan, Asir, and Mecca before moving eastward.
