## Key Dates for Eid Al Adha 2026
Eid Al Adha, a major Islamic festival, is anticipated to start on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in the UAE. The preceding day, Tuesday, May 26, is Arafah Day, a significant day in the Hajj pilgrimage. These dates are based on astronomical predictions but will be confirmed by moon sighting.
## Public Holidays and Long Weekend
The UAE Cabinet has designated Arafah Day as a public holiday, followed by a three-day holiday for Eid Al Adha from May 27 to May 29. With the weekend on May 30 and 31, residents can enjoy a six-day break. By taking a day off on Monday, May 25, the break can extend to nine days, starting from May 23.
## Hajj Pilgrimage 2026
Hajj, an essential Islamic ritual, is expected to begin around May 25, 2026. It is a spiritual journey required for all Muslims who are able to undertake it. The pilgrimage includes significant rituals, with the main events concluding around May 29-30, subject to moon sighting.
