Samsung net profit surges fivefold in A1 2026 on AI-driven demand

## Record-Breaking Financial Performance

Samsung Electronics reported a remarkable increase in net profit for the first quarter of 2026, with figures soaring over five times compared to the previous year. The company attributed this surge to the strong demand for advanced memory chips used in artificial intelligence applications.

## Financial Highlights

For the quarter ending in March, Samsung's net profit reached 47.22 trillion won, equivalent to approximately $31.8 billion. This is a significant rise from the 8.22 trillion won recorded during the same period last year. Operating profit also saw an impressive increase, jumping more than eightfold to 57.23 trillion won.

## Sales Growth

Samsung's sales figures also experienced substantial growth, climbing 69.2% to 133.87 trillion won from 79.14 trillion won in the previous year. The company's device solutions division, which includes high-margin AI chips, played a crucial role in this financial success, benefiting from rising memory prices.
