Tristar: “Safety is not what we do, it is who we are”

## Tristar's Commitment to Safety

Tristar Group recently held a hybrid safety program at its Jebel Ali headquarters, coinciding with the International Labour Organisation’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work. The event, themed "Safety is not what we do, it is who we are," was attended by employees both in person and via livestream globally.

## Focus on Psychosocial Safety

This year's Global Safety Day highlighted psychosocial safety, addressing the effects of stress, workload, and workplace culture on employee wellbeing. Tristar's approach emphasized a shift from mere compliance to fostering awareness and shared responsibility.

## Engaging Safety Program

The program began with a film created by Tristar employees, linking workplace safety protocols to the personal lives of staff and their families. Shivananda Baikady, General Manager of Road Transport and Warehousing, introduced "barrier thinking" to anticipate and prevent potential failures.

## Expert Insights and Recognition

Guest speakers, including Thomas Edelmann from Road Safety UAE and Amena Japanwala from Agility Kuwait, discussed distracted driving and workplace mental health. The event also recognized employees for outstanding safety interventions, with special awards for Tristar Uganda and Oman teams.

## Training and Proactive Culture

As part of the activities, UAE delivery drivers received specialized training in hazard perception and safe driving techniques. Tristar continues to promote a proactive safety culture, prioritizing the health and wellbeing of its global workforce.
