## UAE's Defence Success

The UAE has demonstrated significant advancements in its defense capabilities, with locally produced jammers neutralizing 85% of drones launched from Iran. This achievement was highlighted by Faisal Al Bannai, Chairman of EDGE Group, during the Make it in the Emirates summit in Abu Dhabi.

## Local Technology in Action

The UAE's air defense systems have intercepted a substantial number of threats, including 537 ballistic missiles and over 2,200 drones since late February 2026. Al Bannai emphasized the importance of national industrial capability, noting that the conflict showcased the effectiveness of UAE-developed technology.

## Rapid Development and Deployment

In response to the conflict, the UAE accelerated its defense production timelines. Products that typically required two years to develop were operational within 30 days, demonstrating the agility and capability of the UAE's defense industry.

## Future of UAE Defense

Al Bannai stated that the UAE aims to achieve self-sufficiency in air defense, with plans to localize missile defense production by next year. The focus will remain on areas where the UAE can build significant capabilities, rather than attempting to produce every type of defense equipment.

## Global Recognition

EDGE's international orders have increased significantly, with 70% of last year's orders coming from outside the UAE. This growth reflects the UAE's emergence as a key player in the global defense and advanced technology sectors.
