## Project Overview Saudi Arabia has completed the second phase of its shading and cooling project at Mount Arafat, aimed at improving conditions for pilgrims during the Hajj 2026 season. This phase includes the installation of 18 modern canopies equipped with 36 misting fans, seven advanced cooling units, and 107 misting fan columns.

## Expansion Details The project significantly expands the shaded and cooled areas, increasing their size fivefold compared to the previous year. The total area now covers over 272,000 square meters across both phases.

## Background and Objectives The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the pilgrim experience and aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. It aims to provide a more comfortable environment for pilgrims performing their rituals at the holy sites.

## Previous Developments The first phase, completed in 2025, included three canopies and six misting fans, along with over 165 misting fan columns. This ongoing development is part of an integrated system to support sustainable improvements at the holy sites.
