## Infrastructure Upgrade for Hajj 2026
Saudi Arabia has completed the installation of 74 escalators in Mina to improve the movement of pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season. This initiative, led by the Kidana Development Company, aims to reduce congestion and ease the physical burden on pilgrims, particularly benefiting the elderly and those with health conditions.
## Phased Implementation
The project was executed in three phases, with 32 escalators installed in both 2024 and 2025, and an additional 10 added this year. These escalators are strategically placed across eight new sites to enhance accessibility and efficiency.
## Benefits for Pilgrims
The new infrastructure is expected to shorten travel times between tent areas and essential facilities, ensuring smoother and safer crowd movement during peak periods of the pilgrimage. This development is part of broader efforts to improve service quality and infrastructure at the holy sites.
