DP World launches cargo war risk insurance for Middle East trade routes

## Comprehensive Coverage for Trade Routes

DP World, a logistics company based in Dubai, has unveiled a new cargo war risk insurance product. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive coverage for goods transported across Middle East trade routes, addressing the rising costs and coverage gaps in traditional insurance due to regional instability.

## End-to-End Protection

The new policy offers continuous protection for shipments, covering ocean and air freight, port storage, and inland transportation. This approach replaces the fragmented coverage typical of conventional war risk insurance, which often only covers one segment of a shipment's journey.

## Addressing Rising Premiums

War risk insurance premiums have surged in recent years due to increased regional conflicts and attacks on vessels. DP World's product covers physical loss or damage from war-related risks, such as armed conflict and civil unrest, with claims settled without a deductible.

## Competitive Pricing and Coverage Limits

DP World has secured competitive pricing for its insurance by leveraging global insurance market relationships. Coverage limits include up to $400 million per shipment and $1 million per inland movement, with automatic port storage cover for up to 14 days.

## Expanding Logistics Services

This launch marks DP World's expansion beyond ports and terminals into broader supply chain risk management and logistics services, enhancing its integrated logistics offerings.
