Bestax Chartered Accountants prepares UAE businesses for e-invoicing rollout

## E-Invoicing Rollout in the UAE

Bestax Chartered Accountants is assisting UAE businesses in preparing for the transition to electronic invoicing, which will become mandatory from 2026. This move follows the UAE Ministry of Finance's issuance of Ministerial Decisions No. 243 and 244 of 2025, outlining the framework and timeline for e-invoicing implementation.

## Implementation Timeline

The pilot phase begins on July 1, 2026, with mandatory adoption starting in 2027. Companies with annual revenues of Dh50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by July 31, 2026, and implement e-invoicing by January 1, 2027. Those with lower revenues have until March 31, 2027, to appoint a provider and must implement the system by July 1, 2027. Government entities have a deadline of March 31, 2027, for appointing a provider and must implement by October 1, 2027.

## Scope and Requirements

The e-invoicing system applies to transactions between businesses, government entities, and across government departments. Business-to-consumer transactions are not included in the main scope. Transactions must be processed electronically through an Accredited Service Provider, replacing traditional paper or simple PDF invoices.

## Preparation and Support

Bestax emphasizes the importance of early preparation, advising businesses to review their accounting systems, ERP platforms, and internal processes. The firm offers support through readiness reviews, system checks, and compliance planning. Businesses with complex operations may require additional time for coordination and testing.

## Global Trend

The UAE's shift to e-invoicing is part of a global trend towards digital tax administration, aimed at enhancing transparency and compliance. Bestax Chartered Accountants will continue to support businesses as they navigate the transition and comply with new regulations.
