## Rising Diabetes Cases Among Women

In 2025, data from Emirates Health Services (EHS) revealed that women surpassed men in diabetes cases across the UAE. Out of 20,713 registered diabetes patients, 12,349 were women, while 8,364 were men. This shift highlights the growing need for targeted healthcare strategies for women.

## Regional Breakdown

Sharjah reported the highest number of diabetes cases with 8,153 patients. Ras Al Khaimah followed with 5,283 cases, and Fujairah had 3,779. Ajman and Umm Al Quwain recorded 1,264 and 1,130 cases, respectively. Dubai registered 1,104 patients, with a slight female majority.

## Focus on UAE Nationals

UAE nationals made up the majority of diabetes patients, totaling 15,407, compared to 5,306 non-citizens. This underscores the importance of regular screenings and early detection programs within the country.

## Advancements in Diabetes Care

EHS is enhancing diabetes care by integrating advanced technologies and expanding treatment services. The organization has achieved international accreditation for its diabetes care program, making it the largest accredited network globally. Innovations include AI-supported insulin pumps that improve insulin and glucose management, enhancing patient safety and quality of life.
