Move aside: Abu Dhabi emergency vehicles now record violations

## Smart Cameras Enhance Emergency Response

Abu Dhabi has equipped its emergency vehicles, including firefighting, ambulance, and rescue units, with advanced smart cameras. This initiative aims to improve response times and road safety by monitoring traffic conditions and identifying obstacles.

## Real-Time Monitoring and Violation Recording

The smart camera system is integrated with the operations room, enabling real-time tracking of emergency vehicles. It records traffic violations that hinder emergency response, such as blocking the path of these vehicles.

## Penalties for Non-Compliance

Motorists who fail to give way to emergency vehicles face severe penalties, including a Dh3,000 fine, 30-day vehicle impoundment, and six black points on their driving record. Drivers are encouraged to move aside safely, even if it means cautiously crossing a red light, to facilitate emergency access.

## "Don’t Hesitate… Give Way Immediately" Campaign

This initiative is part of a broader campaign launched in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police and other local authorities. The campaign focuses on fostering a culture of immediate response among drivers and emphasizes the critical importance of every second in emergency situations.
