Oman is experiencing a significant heatwave as temperatures have soared above 44°C. The highest temperature recorded was 44.5°C in Saham, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This marks a sharp increase as the country approaches its summer peak.

## Regional Temperature Records

Several regions in Oman have reported extreme heat over the past 24 hours. Samail and Fahud both recorded temperatures of 43.9°C, while Dima Wattayeen reached 43.6°C. Al Rustaq and Muqshin saw temperatures of 43.5°C, and Sur and Barka recorded 43.2°C. Other areas like Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, Al Suwaiq, and Wadi Al Maawil also experienced temperatures above 42°C.

## Early Onset of Summer Heat

These high temperatures are occurring weeks before the typical summer peak, with many areas already experiencing daytime temperatures exceeding 40°C. This early onset of intense heat is a concern as Oman prepares for the hottest months ahead.
