UAE Minister: We do not wait for protection and we can deter aggression

## UAE's Firm Stance Against Iranian Allegations

During the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, the UAE strongly dismissed Iranian claims justifying attacks on its territory. Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, UAE's Minister of State, emphasized that these actions violate the United Nations Charter and international law.

## Repeated Attacks on UAE Infrastructure

Since February 2026, the UAE has faced nearly 3,000 missile and drone attacks targeting civilian infrastructure. These attacks have affected airports, ports, oil facilities, and residential areas, prompting widespread international condemnation.

## International Support for UAE

The United Nations Security Council and Human Rights Council have both condemned the attacks, with resolutions backed by over 100 countries. Other international bodies, including the International Maritime Organization and the International Civil Aviation Organization, have also criticized Iran's actions.

## Call for Respect and Dialogue

Al Marar stressed the UAE's right to defend its sovereignty under international law and called for respect for state sovereignty and dialogue to ensure regional stability. He accused Iran of obstructing shipping lanes, including the Strait of Hormuz, which he described as a threat to global energy security.
