## Legal Rights During Iddah
In the UAE, a divorced woman has the right to remain in the marital home during the Iddah period, which is a waiting period following a divorce. This is applicable in cases of a revocable divorce or if the woman is pregnant. The law mandates maintenance for a woman in Iddah from a revocable divorce and for a pregnant woman until childbirth.
## Conditions for Residence
According to UAE law, a woman in her waiting period is entitled to stay in the marital home unless it is deemed unsuitable. In such cases, she should be provided with a suitable alternative residence. This ensures her rights are protected during this transitional phase.
## Housing Multiple Wives
If a man has more than one wife, he is permitted to house them in the same building, provided that each wife has her own private space. The law specifies that each wife must have independent living arrangements, including separate sanitary and service facilities, and private entrances and exits. The court may impose additional conditions if requested by an aggrieved wife.
