Dubai's RTA issues Ramadan driving alert for taxi and delivery drivers

## New Safety Campaign

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has initiated a road safety campaign aimed at taxi and delivery drivers during Ramadan. The campaign seeks to enhance safe driving practices and minimize traffic incidents during the holy month.

## Distribution of Awareness Materials

As part of the initiative, over 40,000 awareness leaflets have been distributed along with iftar meals and Ramadan gifts. The RTA collaborates with various partners, including Dubai Police and several private companies, to reach drivers at key locations.

## Key Safety Tips

Drivers are advised to avoid driving immediately after heavy meals, maintain patience, and keep a safe distance from other vehicles. Planning journeys in advance and choosing safe transport options are also recommended.

## Truck Movement Restrictions

Adjustments have been made to truck movement restrictions on major routes to reduce traffic risks. For instance, on the E11 Corridor, restrictions now apply from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. Other adjustments include morning and afternoon restrictions on various roads.

## Year-Round Prohibitions

The RTA reminds drivers that truck movement is always prohibited in key tunnels and bridges, such as Al Shindagha Tunnel and Al Maktoum Bridge, among others.

## Emphasizing Responsibility

The campaign underscores the importance of attentive driving, especially during Ramadan, to prevent accidents and ensure safety on the roads.
