## Significant Archaeological Discovery in Qassim

Saudi Arabia's Heritage Commission has announced a remarkable find at the Dariyah archaeological site in the Qassim region. During the fourth season of excavation, archaeologists uncovered a collection of 100 gold jewellery pieces from the Abbasid era.

## Intricate Craftsmanship

The jewellery set features intricate designs, including floral motifs and geometric patterns. Notable pieces include a large circular ornament with colored stones and multi-colored beads. The craftsmanship reflects advanced techniques such as hand-hammering and stone inlay work, showcasing the sophistication of Abbasid goldsmithing.

## Broader Archaeological Findings

In addition to the jewellery, the site revealed architectural remains, including stone foundations, mud walls, and pottery vessels. These findings suggest human settlement dating back to the late third century AH, highlighting Dariyah's historical significance along Hajj and trade routes.

## Cultural Preservation Efforts

This discovery is part of Saudi Arabia's broader initiative to document and preserve its archaeological heritage, aligning with the cultural goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
