## Comprehensive Vaccination Campaign
The UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has confirmed that all pilgrims from the UAE have received the necessary vaccinations for the Hajj pilgrimage in 2026. This initiative is part of the "Healthy and Safe Hajj" campaign, which aims to protect pilgrims throughout their journey. Key vaccinations include the meningococcal vaccine, with additional recommendations for the seasonal flu and pneumococcal vaccines, especially for those at higher risk.
## Health Screenings and Emergency Simulations
Free medical screenings, including blood pressure and sugar checks, were provided to pilgrims, with support from institutions like the Imperial College London Diabetes and Endocrinology Centre in Abu Dhabi. Special attention was given to older adults, those with chronic conditions, and pregnant women. To ensure readiness, the medical team conducted simulations of emergency procedures, from initial triage to potential hospital referrals, using fully equipped ambulances in Makkah.
## Preparedness in Makkah
In Makkah, the UAE medical mission has set up clinics stocked with necessary supplies. Pilgrims were pre-screened for health conditions, allowing tailored care upon arrival. The ministry has also disseminated health guidelines through digital platforms, emphasizing hygiene, hydration, and sun protection.
## Post-Hajj Care
Upon returning to the UAE, pilgrims will continue to receive health support, including follow-up check-ups to detect any complications early. The ministry's objectives include ensuring continuity of care, promoting preventive awareness, and reducing emergency visits through early intervention. Electronic medical records will facilitate smooth access to health data, with high-risk cases monitored by specialized committees.
